RE: ARB -2017-52: UVA Indoor Golf Facility at Birdwood
Dear Chris,
We have received the above -referenced sign application. Items were either missing from the submittal or
are in need of revision for review to progress. The outstanding issues are:
1. The site plans submitted are not to scale. When Al sheets are reduced to 11" x 17" -sized paper,
the scale is no longer valid.
2. Mechanical equipment, trash containers, loading and service areas, other similar features and
improvements as well as associated screening were not shown on the site plans.
3. The location of retaining walls indicating top and bottom elevations, maximum wall height, and
proposed materials with material color and samples were not provided.
4. A signed tree conservation checklist was not provided.
5. A lighting plan showing the location of all proposed building and site lighting, a lighting
schedule, manufacturer's specifications, and a photometric plan were not provided.
6. The architectural drawings provided were not drawn to a verifiable scale.
7. A materials schedule was not provided.
8. Site sections that illustrate the visibility of the proposed development from the Entrance Corridor,
indicating the finish floor elevations and roof heights relative to the natural elevations along the
Entrance Corridor, were not provided.
9. One set of all building material/colors was not provided.
10. Labeled, 8.5" x 11" photos of the site as seen from both directions on the Entrance Corridor were
not provided.
Please resubmit the following items:
1. Properly scaled and verifiable (i.e., to -scale drawings that note the scale and include a scale bar
for reference) site plan and architectural drawings. Site plans should be at 1" = 20' scale while
architectural drawings should be at 1/8" =1' scale.
a. Note mechanical equipment, trash containers, loading and service areas, and other similar
features on the site plans.
b. Provide the requested information in regards to the proposed retaining wall.
c. Include a signed tree conservation checklist.
2. A photometric lighting plan that includes the light emittance values of both the proposed pole
lights and the wall mounted lights on the building.
a. Manufacturer's cut sheets for all proposed lights, including wall mounted and pole lights.
b. A lighting schedule.
3. Site sections that illustrate the visibility of the proposed development from the Entrance Corridor
which indicate the finish floor elevations and roof heights relative to the natural elevations along
the Entrance Corridor. If the site section proves that the proposed development will not be
visible, even partially, from the Entrance Corridor, a materials schedule or material samples will
not be necessary. However, if the site section proves any portion of the proposed development
will be visible from the Entrance Corridor, please include
a. A materials schedule.
b. One set of all building material/colors.
Please respond by email within 15 days of the date of this letter indicating whether you will or will not
