RE: SP-99-46 S. Luke's Chapel, Tax Map 92, Parcel46A
Dear Mr. Berberich:
The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, at its meeting on October 20, 1999. unanimously approved
the above-noted request to expand the parish hall at the rear of the existing church building. Please note
that this approval is subject to the following conditions:
I. Church development shall be limited to the building addition and parking areas shown on the
sketch plan dated 9/9/99 and incidental improvements such as storage sheds, picnic tables,
children's play equipment, and walkways. Location of improvements may change as a result of
Architectural Review Board requirements.
2. The church shall commence construction of the building addition, if at all, within tive (5) years
after the issuance of this special use permit or it shall be deemed abandoned and the authority
granted by the permit shall be terminated. All applicable Health Department requirements at the
time the building permit is issued shall be satisfied.
3. The applicant shall complete all preliminary BMP calculations and, if required by the Engineering
Department. provide BMP facilities for the addition and parking lot, and
4. Day care use shall be prohibited unless approved through a special use permit amendment.
In the event that the use. structure or activity for which this special use permit is issued shall not be
commenced within eighteen (18) months after the issuance of such permit, the same shall be deemed
abandoned and the authority granted thereunder shall thereupon terminate. For purposes of this section,
the term "commenced" shall be construed to include the commencement of construction of any structure
necessary to the use of such permit within two (2) years from the date of the issuance thereofwhich is
thereafter completed within one (1) year.
Before beginning this use, you must obtain a zoning clearance from the Zoning Department. Before the
Zoning Department will issue a clearance, you must comply with the conditions in this letter. For further
