Dear Mr. Haney:
The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, at its meeting on April 14, 1999, unanimously
approved the above-noted request to allow construction of a 16' x 16' addition to the existing
church. Please note that this approval is subject to the following conditions:
1. Church development shall be limited to the improvements shown on the sketch plan dated February 6
1999 and incidental improvements such as storage sheds, picnic tables, children's play equipment,
and walkways between the buildings and parking areas.
2. Day care use shall be prohibited unless approved through a special use permit amendment.
3. Conformity with setback requirements shall be established prior to issuance of a building permit.
4. A stairway or walkway from the lower parking lot to the church shall be provided when parking
needs regularly exceed parking provided by the upper lot.
Also, staff will be looking at the building plans to see what the issue is with the setbacks.
In the event that the use, structure or activity for which this special use permit is issued shall not
be commenced within eighteen (18) months after the issuance of such permit, the same shall be
deemed abandoned and the authority granted thereunder shall thereupon terminate. For purposes
of this section, the term "commenced" shall be construed to include the commencement of
construction of any structure necessary to the use of such permit within two (2) years from the
date of the issuance thereof which is thereafter completed within one (1) year.
Before beginning this use, you must obtain a zoning clearance from the Zoning Department.
Before the Zoning Department will issue a clearance, you must comply with the conditions in this
