HomeMy WebLinkAboutSP199700002 Action Letter ::1 r COUNTY OF ALBEMARLE Dept. of Planning & Community Development 401 Mcintire Road Charlottesville, Virginia 22902·4596 (804) 296·5823 May 1, 1997 Howard Key 7027 Secretary Sand Road Schuyler, V A 22969 RE: SP 97-02 Mt Ararat Lodge #20 Tax Map 121, Parcel 32A Dear Mr. Key: The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, at its meeting on April 16, 1997, unanimously approved the above-noted request to amend SP-95-39 to increase size of meeting hall for Masonic Lodge on approximatley 2.11 acres. Please note that this approval is subject to the following conditions: I. The building shall be limited in size to 3,000 square feet. 2. Maximum attendance at the meetings shall not exceed those limits as established by the Health Department. 3. Any expansion of: or addition to, the uses, activities or structure outlined in the July 20, 1993 stafT report shall require additional review and approval by the Board of Supervisors. The current activities of the Lodge are listed in a letter from Harold Key, dated February 18, 1997 which is attached. 4. Compliance with Section 5.1.2 of the Zoning Ordinance. In the event that the use, structure or activity for which this special use permit is issued shall not be commenced within eighteen (18) months after the issuance of such permit, the same shall be deemed abandoned and the authority granted thereunder shall thereupon terminate. For purposes of this section, the term "commenced" shall be construed to include the commencement of construction of any structure necessary to the use of such pemlit within two (2) years from the date of the issuance thereof which is thereafter completed within one (1) year.
