RE: SP-2002-027 Kia Dearlership; Tax Map 78, Parcel 9
Dear Mr. Carver:
The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, at its meeting on August 14,2002, unanimously approved the above-
noted request Please note that this approval is subject to the following conditions:
1. Vehicles shall not be elevated;
2. Vehicles shall be displayed only in the areas indicated for display as shown on the site plan;
3. The use shall not commence prior to the issuance of a Certificate of Appropriateness by the Architectural Review
Board. This shall include approval of landscaping and lighting plans;
4. In addition to the landscaping required by condition three, the applicant shall provide trees along the interior drive
forty feet (40') on center, two and one-half inch (2 %") caliper, at the bottom of the slope. Provide a mix of
screening trees, screening shrubs, and ornamental trees throughout the slopes to soften its appearance;
5. The open rip-rap channel shall be changed to a sub-surface pipe to the satisfaction of the Engineering
Department; and
6. The storm water BMP facility will be designed as a recreational amenity compatible with the adjacent residential
development
In the event that the use, structure or activity for which this special use permit is issued shall not be commenced
within twenty-four (24) months after the issuance of such permit, the same shall be deemed abandoned and the
authority granted thereunder shall thereupon terminate. For purposes of this section, the term "commenced" shall be
construed to include the commencement of construction of any structure necessary to the use of such permit within
two (2) years from the date of the issuance.
Before beginning this use, you must obtain a zoning clearance from the Zoning Department. Before the Zoning
Department will issue a clearance, you must comply with the conditions in this letter. For further information, please
