He is a contractor and it's what we do for a living. Buy homes,renovate them and rent them to tenants. Currently,this house has a well on its property for water source. The home was built in 1940 and the well is very old. We had the water tested by Aqua Air Laboratories,Inc. and their report shows that the "sample does not meet state standard for coliform bacteria in drinking water. Total coliforms were detected. Both Coliform Bacteria and E. Coli were detected,which makes our water unsafe. I have attached their report. We are requesting to hook into county water. Our new property sits at the interchange between I-64 and 250(Shadwell Interchange). It appears that we are surrounded by a mix of zoning ordinances.Those include Highway Commercial and Light Industrial as well as Residential. I know that there is currently a 16-inch diameter ductile iron water main that runs along Richmond Road (rt.250). It was installed in 1993 to provide water service to the Glenmore subdivision. That sits approximately 500 feet down the road from our new property. So it appears that hooking into the main water line is certainly do-able. I'm concerned not only that our well is old and currently contaminated,but that the surrounding properties,some being heavy commercial,might present a problem for us in contaminated water runoff getting into our well and potentially causing harm to our renters. The hotel that sits directly across from our property currently serves as housing for quite a number of maintenance crews. On any given day,you can see their machinery sitting in the parking lot. This includes,but is not limited to,tar trucks,gas trucks,construction trucks,cement trucks,etc. Oil leaks,gas spills,etc.that could potentially occur as their trucks sit overnight on the parking lot,coupled with heavy rains,etc.could potentially pose a risk in contaminated water getting into our well. Please consider my request to allow us to hook into county water.
