In accordance with section 14.232, a private road may be authorized if the total volume of grading for construction of a public road would be 30% more than that of a private road, or the environmental impact is substantially greater than that of a private road. A private road will meet both of these requirements. A. Enclosed are grading plans showing the anticipated volume of grading for a public road (17830 cu.yds.), and for a private road (5753 cu. yds.). The public road would require 244% more volume of grading than that of the private road. B. A private road would also require 32% less surface area disturbed, thus decreasing erosion and storm water runoff. Please review this request at your earliest convenience.
