Commissioner COMMONWEALTH of 'VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION 1601 Orange Road Culpeper Virginla 22701 October 19, 2017 County of Albemarle Department of Community Development 401 McIntire Road Charlottesville, VA 22902 Attn: Bobby Jocz Re: Old Trail Creekside V — Phase I & H-Road Plans SUB-2017-00149 Review #1 Dear Mr. Jocz: The Department of Transportation, Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use Section, has reviewed the above referenced plan as submitted by Collins Engineering, dated 5 June 2017, and offers the following comment. Land Use 1. Please provide sight distance lines and profiles on the plans. 2. Please show mill and overlay on plans in accordance with WP-2 and show limits of mill and overlay. Please insert WP-2 standard detail in plan set. 3. The mill and overlay will require work to centerline, so flagging operation will be necessary. Please provide an MOT plan in accordance with the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual. 4. Birmingham Court Cul-de-sac, in order for radius to be 35' it needs to be specifically approved by the locality in consultation with emergency services. Please see B (1)-25, figure 4 for details. 5. This plan will not be approved by VDOT until the Birmingham Drive entrance and easement issues have been resolved. Please provide two copies of the revised road plans along with a comment response letter. If further information is desired, please contact Willis C. Bedsaul at 434422-9866. A VDOT Land Use Permit will be required prior to any work within the right-of-way.
