RE: ARB2018-17 TD Ameritrade Sign
Dear Ms. Robinson,
I have reviewed the above -noted sign applications. The following revisions are requested to make the
proposal consistent with the Entrance Corridor Sign Guidelines.
As previously requested, please provide the manufacturer cut sheets describing the illumination
type, intensity, and color of the proposed light fixtures. The LED color must be white. You must
also indicate which areas of the sign are opaque and which are illuminated.
2. If LED lighting is proposed, the site drawing must include the following note: "the level of
illumination provided by the LED lights will not exceed the illumination produced by a single
stroke of 30 milliamp (ma) neon."
3. As per the ARB Sign Guidelines, a channel letter height of 18" is appropriate for a 30" sign band
area. At 9.8125", the height of the "Ameritrade" lettering is small for an approximate 30" sign
band. A height of 12" would be sufficient for the "Ameritrade" lettering. Please revise the sign
drawing to reflect guideline 9d of the ARB Sign Guidelines.
4. As per the Comprehensive Sign Plan for this parcel, channel letters must be "centered in the sign
band." The "Ameritrade" letters should be centered on the raceway and, thereby, the sign band.
Please respond by email within 15 days of the date of this letter indicating whether you will or will not
proceed with these revisions. Your decision to make the revisions will suspend the 60-day review period
associated with your original submittal. If you choose to complete the revisions, please email the revised
drawings to me. If you choose not to proceed with these revisions, staff will be unable to approve your
application. Failure to respond to this letter shall be presumed to be a request to proceed to action on the
application without further revisions.
