To the County Engineer:
We are a small business that designs and fabricates custom signage. We have thirty three
(33) employees and are relocating our business from the city of Charlottesville to
1766 Scottsville Rd Charlottesville, VA 22902. The parcel (09000-00-00-035V0)
is zoned Light Commercial (L1). We have addressed the performance standards of Zoning
Ordinance Section 18-4,14:
Noise: Our operation will not create sound or impact noise levels in excess of the values
specified in Section 4.14.1. We are located on a 7 acre parcel, with the shop toward the rear
of the parcel and away from Rt 20 (the new structure which fronts Rt 20 houses
administrative and design offices). The major sources of noise in our shop include: a CNC
router, a table saw, a chop saw, a stone saw and assorted hand held tools, none of which
produce unacceptable noise levels.
Vibration: Equipment operated within the shop does not produce any detectable earthborn
vibration.
Glare: Our operation is completely contained within the building. The interior lighting
associated with this operation does not produce glare that is visible beyond the lot line.
Air Pollution: There will be no emission of smoke, odor or gaseous pollutants.
Water Pollution: No liquid wastes will be generated by this operation. Our operation does
not represent a hazard to water quality.
Radioactivity: Our operation does not require handling of radioactive materials. There will be
no radioactive emissions.
Electrical Interference: Our operation does not require any equipment that would generate
electrical disturbances.
