RE: ARB-2018-56: Pho3Pho wall sign
Dear Chelsea,
I have reviewed the above -noted sign application. The following missing information is requested for
continued review and revisions are requested to make the proposal consistent with the Entrance Corridor
Sign Guidelines.
1. As per the Comprehensive Sign Plan for TMP45-109, the trim cap and return colors must be
bronze. Provide this information on a revised sign drawing.
2. As per Sign Guideline 9.1ii, channel letters with translucent faces must have no light spilling
outward from the top, bottom, sides, or back. Please provide the proposed material(s) for the
channel letter trim caps and returns as well as the proposed color on a revised sign drawing.
3. As per the Comprehensive Sign Plan for TMP45-109, the raceway color must match the color of
the wall to which it is attached. Please provide the proposed raceway color and indicate on a
revised sign drawing that the raceway will match the color of the wall surface to which it is
attached.
4. I have a question as to whether any part of the graphic/logo will be opaque. Please indicate on a
revised sign drawing which areas of the proposed sign are opaque and which will emit light (are
translucent)
5. As per Appendix AA of the EC Sign Guidelines, the ratio of the proposed sign to the wall area
should be 1/3 text to 2/3 wall area or 1/4 text to 3/4 wall area; furthermore, as per Sign Guideline
9d., there should be a minimum of 4" of clearance between the top, bottom, and sides of the
proposed sign and the edges of the sign band/wall area. The dimensions of the sign band/wall
area have not been provided, and so these criteria cannot be evaluated. Please provide a revised
elevation drawing for that side of the building which fronts the EC that provides the length and
height of the sign band area.
Please respond by email within 15 days of the date of this letter indicating whether you will or will not
proceed with these revisions. Your decision to make the revisions will suspend the 60-day review period
associated with your original submittal. If you choose to complete the revisions, please email the revised
drawings to me. If you choose not to proceed with these revisions, staff will be unable to approve your
application. Failure to respond to this letter shall be presumed to be a request to proceed to action on the
application without further revisions.
