This letter is in response to the attached LOR request letter dated April 20, 2018. The Department of
Community Development hereby grants approval of a LOR for the following modifications to SDP2017-
16, which are depicted on the modified site plan sheet titled: "C3 of 24" and described below:
1. Revising fencing atop retaining walls throughout plan to be either Exhibit A or Exhibit B or
remain VDOT HR-1 as previously approved.
This is the first LOR for this site. Three LORs are allowed, after which all required changes must be
submitted as a site plan amendment.

Letter of Site Plan Revision

This letter is being provided to clarify the proposed fencing for the
Timberland Park Apartments. We are proposing the installation of chain -link
fencing (Exhibit A) along the top of the "rear" retaining wall as illustrated on the
attached Exhibit. Aluminum picket fencing (Exhibit B) is proposed along the top
of several other retaining walls at the locations shown. Standard handrailing
(VDOT HR-1, detail provided on Sheet C16 of approved Site Plans) will be
installed as indicated. Depending on final grading, we are hoping to eliminate
some, or all, locations of the HR-1, which is strictly to facilitate some site grading
challenges.
