Commissioner May 03, 2018 County of Albemarle Department of Community Development 401 McIntire Road Charlottesville, VA 22902 Attn: Chris Perez Re: SDP-2018-00028- Flow Auto- Final Site Plan Review # 1 Dear Mr. Perez: The Department of Transportation, Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use Section, has reviewed the above referenced plans as submitted by Collins Engineering, dated April 19, 2018 and offer the following comment. Land use 1. The current entrances don't meet spacing requirements. Please see VDOT's Road Design Manual appendix F-Access Management, F-26. Route 250 is a principal arterial road which requires 565 ft. of spacing between full access entrances in either direction. The required spacing for a partial access is 305 ft. VDOT recommends a shared entrance with the parcel to the east. A VDOT Land Use Permit will be required prior to any work within the right-of-way. The owner/developer must contact the VDOT Charlottesville Residency Land Use Section at (434) 422-9399 for information pertaining to this process.
