Charlottesville, VA 22901 RE: ARB-2018-92: Graphtone wall signs JNIP 045C0-02-00-00300) Dear Mr. Tashtanov, I have reviewed the above -noted sign application. The property lies within the Entrance Corridor Overlay District and as such, all sign applications require ARB review. Furthermore, there is a Comprehensive Sign Plan for Woodbrook ShoppingCenter enter which provides the previously approved standards and criteria by which all signs visible from the Entrance Corridor must comply. The proposed wall sign above the storefront entry is not visible from the Entrance Corridor and therefore does not warrant ARB review; however, the panel sign ("direction sign board") proposed for the lattice fence is visible from the Entrance Corridor (Rt. 29) and does warrant ARB review. The following revisions are requested to make the proposal consistent with the Entrance Corridor Sign Guidelines and with the Comprehensive Sign Plan for Woodbrook ShoppingCenter. enter. 1. Revise the drawing "Direction sign board" so that the background color of the proposed panel sign is either a mottled gray or a shade of blue that coordinates with the shades of blue used for the backgrounds of existing signs in the shopping center, as per the Comprehensive Sign Plan for Woodbrook ShoppingCnter. 2. Indicate on the drawing "Direction sign board" the proposed colors and include standard color identification numbers (Pantone, Benjamin Moore, Acrylic, Sherwin Williams, etc.) for all materials, text, graphics, faces, etc. Please note that Red acrylic #2283 has been determined to be an inappropriate color for signs. Pantone color match for 2283 is 485C. Red #2793 has been approved as an acceptable substitute. Pantone color match for 2793 is 187C. Please respond by email within 15 days of the date of this letter indicating whether you will or will not proceed with these revisions. Your decision to make the revisions will suspend the 60-day review period associated with your original submittal. If you choose to complete the revisions, please email the revised drawings to me. If you choose not to proceed with these revisions, staff will be unable to approve your application. Failure to respond to this letter shall be presumed to be a request to proceed to action on the application without further revisions. Unfortunately, I found a typo that you will need to rectify, please, before I approve this: you listed the light blue as Panton 227C, but I believe you meant to write "277C". Pantone 227C is a magenta. Please make this small revision and I will approve the drawing.
