The spec sheets you have accurately depict what is to be installed, less the Gateway. The dashed footprint is indeed the canopy; McDonald's standard canopy width is 6 feet, but a new"slim"version is now being offered and most owners are moving in that direction. The sign contractor is the one who ultimately makes that decision, and so I typically draw my plans with the maximum canopy width shown. I have confirmed they will use the "slim" at this location. The canopy width shown on the spec will supersede its plan-view dimension. I have also attached a detail of a typical Gateway, but it is for a Double, and we will only have a Single for this location. The image below provides a rough idea of what the equipment looks like once installed. A side-by-side configuration is shown here, but the Shoppers World location will only have a single lane. iow A" t6;9": 111E d " 1111 . Concept Drawing Only Lastly, I have also attached a Drive-Thru layout sheet for your reference. It includes more geometric detail than the Amended SDP. Please feel free to let me know of anything else you may need! Thanks, Lane B. Hargroder, EIT Site Engineering Technician Balzer and Associates, Inc. I am having some difficulty visualizing the proposed changes in the drive-through area; is the dashed footprint, for instance,a large (6'-wide)canopy? Margaret Maliszewski has forwarded me an email from you which has some attachments(I've attached them to this email for your reference), but I do not see within those specs anything that looks to be as wide as the canopy drawn in the site plan detail. Do you have architectural elevations or photographs of what these individual site elements—the gateway, the pre-browse board, the COD,and the menu board—will look like once installed?Any information you have would be helpful, and please feel free to email me digital files. Margaret From: Lane Hargroder[mailto:LHargroder@balzer.cc] Sent:Thursday,January 18, 2018 3:04 PM To: Margaret Maliszewski<MMaliszewski@albemarle.org> Subject: RE: McDonalds Shoppers World Good afternoon, Margaret, Thank you for the link to the approved plan. I'm currently trying to contact Bohler Engineering to request their permission to make the amendment. In the meantime, I have another question for you... Please see the attached email. I notified McDonald's that they were not listed as owners for the property and therefore would likely not be allowed to sign as such on the LOR application. Their legal department then provided me with the applicable sections of the Lease describing their authority to modify and improve the property without the need for consent. Can you please confirm that McDonald's will be allowed to sign on behalf of the property owner for the LOR and any other documents that may be needed prior to approval? Thanks, Lane B. Submit an LOR application to show the site changes for the menu board(s)and canopy. 2. Submit a sign application for the menu board(s). 3. The menu board(s) are subject to this regulation:Menu signs. One menu sign per establishment having an approved drive-through lane that does not exceed thirty-two(32)square feet. However, Rebecca has indicated that the menu preview boards are considered directional signs. 4. SDP-2013-13 is the last site plan listed and it includes the McDonald's layout,so that is the plan that should be amended. Margaret.
