Work Completed: Technician arrived as scheduled to observe jobsite operations
Observations: Technician met with Justin of AG Dillard and discussed plans for raising height of dam at existing
pond. Dam to be raised 4 feet in height with aquatic benches created around interior base of dam to a
height level with top of existing dam. Discussions with contractor and engineer confirmed no clay core
needed. Current dam is in native material. Technician also informed contractor that stockpiled topsoil
material was unsuitable for use as fill in dam construction.
Contractor contacted technician later in day to inform that no further inspections would be needed this
day.

observed suitable Silt material being placed around interior rim of pond. Material was placed and
compacted with a sheepsfoot roller.

Work Completed: Technician arrived as scheduled to observe jobsite operations
Observations: Technician observed fill / compaction above pond overflow pipe. Material reddish silt with no rock
observed. Lifts 6 to 8 in. Compaction with rammax and sheepsfoot roller. Compacted lifts probed with
small diameter steel rod at elevations 4 ft, 5 ft and 6 feet above existing pond bottom.
On exterior side of dam, slope being created with excavated material. Technician observed topsoil
material removed from fill prior to placement. Lifts 6-8 in compacted with CP56 sheepsfoot. Material
brownish silt which contained some soft weathered rock observed to break down under compaction
equipment easily.
Fill observed by F&R today at the referenced location and elevation was found satisfactory.

Work Completed: F&R returned to the site as requested for continued pond construction.

Field Notes: Upon arrival technician observed A.G.Dillard compacting previous placed fill at/around -9ft below
FG over outflow pipe. A.G.Dillard completed compaction and begun placing next. Technician
observed rocky material containing weathered rock being used as fill for dam. This material contained
large at/around 8" to 14" in varying sizes that did not break down under compaction.
Technician called project engineer E.Dean with F&R, described to engineer type fill material, and
engineer advised that rocky material not be used as fill around the outflow pipe. Fill activities were
stopped until more suitable material was available. Referenced lift of rocky fill was removed.

Observations & Comments: Visual and manual methods, including probing with a small diameter steel rod and proofrolls with
loaded dump trucks, were used to evaluate fill placement and compaction. Fill observed by F&R today
at the referenced location was found satisfactory.
