K Charlottesville, VA 22902 Attn: Scott Collins Re: Flow Auto Expansion — Access Management Exception Request Dear Mr. Collins: The Department of Transportation, Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use Section, has reviewed the above referenced exception request as submitted August 3, 2018, and offer the following comment: 1. There appears to be an existing inter -parcel connection to the auto dealership to the east. Can this be utilized and the entrance on the neighboring parcel shared? Appendix F of the VDOT Road Design Manual requires that commercial entrances be shared where feasible. If this is not possible the Department expects documentation demonstrating this effort. Additionally, please note that should median be installed along Route 250 in this area the likely location for a median break and potentially a signal would be at Town and Country Lane at the neighboring commercial entrance.
