11. Whittington PRD Amendment Request to amend the Albemarle C ounty Service Authority Jurisdictional
Areas for sew er service to the Whittington Subdivision located on Old Lynchburg R oad. Samuel Miller
D istrict.
12. Route 800 VA Byway Designation. To consider adopting a resolution to s upport Virginia Byw ay
designation (denoted by “VB”) for Route 800 from the intersec tion of Route 6, also a Virginia By way, to the
Albemarle County/Nelson County line. If this road is designated, it w ould become part of a coordinated
promotional s cenic route strategy to promote Virginia tourism, and it would make the road eligible to
participate in the National Scenic Byway Program. There are no land use restrictions placed on lands
abutting designated roads other than on the installation of new signs advertising offsite uses and activities
(billboards).
13. An ordinance to amend section 4105, Care of companion animals; penalty, section 4400,
Vaccination of dogs and cats required, and section 4401, Rabid animals, of Chapter 4, Animals and
Fowl, of the A lbemarle County Code. The proposed ordinance amends the local animal law s to parallel
the recodified Virginia Code provisions related to local animal laws by increasing the penalty for repeated
v iolations of s ection 4105 and by clarifying in sections 4400 and 4401 the procedures and responsibilities
among the Health D epartment, the C ounty and others to prevent and control rabies.
