An adjourned meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia, was held on
April 13, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m., Giorgios Room, Doubletree Hotel, 990 Hilton Heights Road,
Charlottesville, Virginia, for the purpose of joining Congressman Robert Hurt, for a Congressional update
and discussion about local governments in the counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, and Nelson and
the City of Charlottesville as well as state representatives in the respective areas. The meeting was
adjourned from April 11, 2012.
PRESENT: Mr. Kenneth C. Boyd, Ms. Ann Mallek, Mr. Duane E. Snow and Mr. Rodney S.
Thomas.

After a presentation on the national budget by the Congressman, attendees had many questions.
Subjects included continuation of WIA or Workforce Investment Act funding for job training at the County’s
One Stop and at PVCC, questions about the TMDL requirements for the Bay cleanup, a discussion about
the Clean Water Act and some attendees' support for protecting the headwaters in Albemarle.
Following the discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 a.m.
