2014-05-08May 8, 2014 (Adjourned Meeting) (Page 1) An adjourned meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia, was held on May 8, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., at the Virginia Center for Transportation and Innovation and Research, 530 Edgemont Road, Charlottesville, Virginia. The meeting was adjourned from May 7, 2014. The purpose of the meeting was to allow a quorum of the Board to attend the Route 29 Advisory Panel Meeting. PRESENT: Ms. Jane D. Dittmar, Ms. Ann Mallek, Ms. Diantha H. McKeel, Ms. Liz A. Palmer and Mr. Brad L. Sheffield. ABSENT: Mr. Kenneth C. Boyd. OFFICERS PRESENT: County Executive, Thomas C. Foley. _____ Call to Order. Ms. Dittmar called the Board to order at 1:05 p.m . _____ Following a proposal to the Advisory Panel by Mr. Philip Shucet, of The Philip Shucet Company, that included spending $222.0 million for a package of road improvements to the Route 29 corridor including a grade-separated interchange at Rio Road, it was the consensus of the Board to request that the Chair write a letter to the Commonwealth Transportation Board and Mr. Shucet in support of Mr. Shucet’s proposed recommendations to the Commonwealth Transportation Board regardin g the work of the Advisory Panel. (Note: On May 27, 2014 after a public hearing, the Board adopted a resolution to support the Route 29 Advisory Panel’s recommended Route 29 Concept Solutions Package presented by Philip A. Shucet. This recommended letter was never sent.) At 3:15 p.m., with no further business motion was offered by Ms. McKeel, seconded by Mr. Sheffield, to adjourn to May 13, 2014, Double Tree Hotel, to allow a quorum of the Board to attend a work shop of the Commonwealth Transportation Board, to receive an update from the Route 29 Advisory Panel. ________________________________________ Chairman Approved by the Board of County Supervisors Date: 09/03/2014 Initials: EWJ
