An adjourned meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia, was held on
June 5, 2014, at 5:00 p.m., Room 241, County Office Building, McIntire Road, Charlottesville, Virginia.
The meeting was adjourned from June 4, 2014.
PRESENT: Mr. Kenneth C. Boyd, Ms. Jane D. Dittmar, Ms. Ann Mallek, Ms. Diantha H. McKeel,
Ms. Liz A. Palmer and Mr. Brad L. Sheffield.
ABSENT: None.
OFFICERS PRESENT: County Executive, Thomas C. Foley, County Attorney, Larry W. Davis,
Clerk, Ella W. Jordan, and Senior Deputy Clerk, Travis O. Morris.

Agenda Item No. 1. Call to Order. The meeting was called to order at 5:02 p.m., by the Chair,
Ms. Dittmar.

Agenda Item No. 2. Closed Meeting.
At 5:03 p.m., Mr. Sheffield moved that the Board go into Closed Meeting pursuant to Section 2.2-
3711(A) of the Code of Virginia under subsection (1) to conduct the annual performance review of the
County Executive. Ms. Mallek seconded the motion.
Roll was called, and the motion passed by the following recorded vote:
AYES: Mr. Sheffield, Mr. Boyd, Ms. Dittmar, Ms. Mallek, Ms. McKeel and Ms. Palmer.
NAYS: None.

Agenda Item No. 20. Certify Closed Meeting.
At 8:29 p.m., the Board reconvened into open meeting. Mr. Sheffield moved that the Board
certify by recorded vote that to the best of each Board member’s knowledge, only public business matters
lawfully exempted from the open meeting requirements of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act and
identified in the motion authorizing the closed meeting were heard, discussed, or considered in the closed
meeting. Ms. Mallek seconded the motion.
Roll was called, and the motion passed by the following recorded vote:
AYES: Mr. Sheffield, Mr. Boyd, Ms. Dittmar, Ms. Mallek, Ms. McKeel and Ms. Palmer.
NAYS: None.

Room.
At 8:30 p.m., motion was offered by Mr. Sheffield, seconded by Ms. Mallek, that the Board
adjourn to June 10, 2014, 9:00 a.m., at the Monticello Fire Department Training Room.
Roll was called, and the motion passed by the following recorded vote:
AYES: Mr. Sheffield, Mr. Boyd, Ms. Dittmar, Ms. Mallek, Ms. McKeel and Ms. Palmer.
