An ordinance to amend Chapter 15, Taxation, of the Albemarle County Code, by amending Section 15-101, Payment of administrative costs and collection of fees, to impose administrative costs on collection of nuisance abatement liens, to increase the fee from $20.00 to $30.00 for delinquent taxes and other charges collected before judgment, and from $25.00 to $35.00 for such taxes and charges collected subsequent to judgment, and to change the timing criteria for imposing the fees from after "the filing of a warrant or other legal document" to after "30 or more days after notice of delinquent taxes or charges". 19. An ordinance to amend Chapter 15, Taxation, of the Albemarle County Code, by amending Section 15-702, Definitions, and Section 15-704, Persons eligible for exemption. The amendment clarifies the definition of "Relative," "Net Combined Financial Worth," and "Income" for purposes of real estate exemption for certain elderly and disabled residents. It allows the rental of part of a home qualifying for tax exemption to a non-relative. It includes the assets of non-resident owners, and excludes non-relatives' income, when determining net combined financial worth.
