An adjourned meeting of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia was held on May 23, 1973, at 3:00 P.M. in the Board Room, County Office BUilding, Charlottesville, Virginia, said meeting being adjourned from May 17, 1973. PRESENT: Messrs. Stuart F. Carwile, Gerold E. Fisher, J.T. Henley, Jr., William C. Thacker, Jr., and Gordon L. Wheeler. ABSENT: Mr. Lloyd F. Wood, Jr. OFFICER PRESENT: County Executive. This meeting was set £or the purpose of discussing with officials of the State Secondary Highway System newly enacted laws, policies and procedures, sources of highway revenues, distribution of these revenues, the procedure used by the highway system for this distribution, highway department planning processes, budgetary procedures, legal responsibilities of Boards of Supervisors, industrial a~d~-~e- creational access funds, additions to the highway system and other problems. Present from the Highway Department were R.G. Warner, Lewis Brett, D.B. Hope and R.~. Coates, At the conclusion of this discussion the Board continued with other matters. (Mr. Carwile was not present during discussion of the following matter.) Mr. Warner gave an estimated cost of $53,262 for the upgrading of Greenbrier ~nd Peyton Drives. Mr. Thacker did not feel the committee appointed to study this matter is ready to make a decision at this time. Mr. Wheeler said he would support the request from Stromberg-Carlson for Industrial Access Funds if Dr. Hurt posted a bond for the upgrading of the remaining roads in this section. Mr. Thacker was instructed to negotiate this with Dr. Hurt and To request as-built drawings be sent to the Highway Department. Motion was seconded by Mr. Thacker and carried by the following recorded vote: AYES: Messrs. Carwile, Fisher, Henley, Thacker and Wheeler. NAYS: None. The Clerk was ordered to place appointments to the Planning Commission, the Albemarle County S~rvice Authority and the Monticello Area Community Action Organization on the agenda of June 21, 1973. Mr. Wheeler announced that a Library Site Selection Committee had been appointed by himself and the Mayor. Those members are: Jill Rinehart and Francis Fife from City Council: Robert Stroh and Lloyd Smith, Jr., from the Library Board; William C. Thacker, Jr., and J.T. Henley, Jr., from the Board of Supervisors, and one member from Fluvanna County and one member from Nelson County will be announced later. Upon proper motion, the meeting was adjourned. Chairman
