An adjourned meeting of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle-County,
Virginia, was held at 7:00 P.M. on this date at the Albemarle County Court House,
said meeting being adjourned from March 23, 1972.
Present~: Nessrs. Stuart F. Carwile, Gerald E. Fisher, J. T. Henley, Jr.,
William C. Thacker, Jr., Gordon L. Wheeler and Lloyd F. Woo~, Jr.
Absent; None.
Officers present: County Attorney.
On request of the Chairman, motion was made by Nr. Thacker, seconded by Nr.
Hmnley, to go into executive session to discuss a personnel matter. Notion carried
by the following recorded vote:
AYES: Messrs. Carwile, Henley, Thacker and Wheeler.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: Mr. Fisher and Nr. Hood.
The Board reconvened at 7:30 P.~.
The Chairman announced that this was the time scheduled for Annual Highway Meet-
ing as advertised in the Daily Progress on Narch 15, 1972 and March 22, 1972, and
posted at the Court House on March 14, 1972.
Mr. R. G. Warner and Nr. Richard Coats of the Virginia Department of Highways
were present for this portion of the meeting.
The following requests for improvements and/or additions were received:
(1) Route 743 from Earlysville to Greene County Line, 5.3 miles - Ditek DeHooge.
(2) Route 659 (SPCA Road), 1.2 miles - Howard Collins. (~Project committed; High-
way Department in process of obtaining rights of way.)
(3) Route 734 past Ash Lawn entrance, 0.30 mile - Harry 0. Eartin, Jr. - request
for extension. (Road Viewers)
(4) Route 685 off of Route 616, 0.30 mile - William Eoore.
(5) Route 698 extension, off Route 633 - Mrs. Howard Hudgins - request for addition.

(7) Route 826 - Vaughn Ford. (Mr. Warn~r~advised that this was approved by Road
Viewers last year.)
(8) Route 637 from Route 758 to Route 691 - Nr. and Nfs. Donald Hite. (Er. 'Warner
advised that this has been set up in next year's budget. )
(9) Route 643 from Route 29 North to Route 743 - Wilbur Olarkson.
(!0) Route 649 (1) from Route 29 North to Route 606, 0.85 mile and (2) Route 29
North to Route 643, 3.20 miles - George Nlller.
(11) ~Route 740 from Route 22 to Route 231, ,1.40 miles - Nrs. Ernley Chapman.

Lamb.(It was reported that Orange County would maintain this Road. Nr.

Nm. Warner gave a very brief report on construction over the past year.
Jack Earzano questioned use of funds by the Highway Department.
On request of the Chairman, this meeting was adjourned until 7:30 P.E. on
April 4,1972, at the Court House to take up matters pertaining to water and sewer,
motion being made by Nr. Garwile, seconded by Nm. Thacker, and adopted by the
following recorded vote:
AYES: Eessrs. Carwile, Fisher, Henley, Thacker, ~heeler and Wood.
