Pursuant to the following waiver, the Board of County Supervisors met in
the County Office Building at 10: 30 A.M. on July 10, 1969, with the following~
members present: Messrs. E. N. Garnett, Joseph E. Gibson, Peter T. Way, Lloyd
F. Wood, Jr. and R. A. Yancey. Absent: Nr. Gordon L. ~Wheeler.
We, the ~uudersi~ued, members of the Board of County Supervisors of
Albemarle County, Virginia, do hereby waive notice and special
service thereof, of a mee$ing to be held at 10:30 A.N. on the 10th
day of July, t969, in the C~unty Office Building, for the purpose
of awarding contract for the construotion of Phase II ~f the North
t~ivanna River Water Facilities, and we do hereby consent to any and
all business and the taking of such action at said meeting upon the
matter hereinabove mentioned as may be lawful, incident and necessa?my

Nr, Warrmu Cline .of John EcNair Consulting Engineering firm presented a
tabulation of bids taken on July 1, 1969, for the construction of Phase II of
the North Rivanna l~iv. er V~ater Facilities. He submitted letter recommending
the acceptance of bid by R. L. Bider and Company on Alternate Bid "B" in the
amount of $3'27,604.40 and rejection of all bids on Part IV. Part IV was 42%
above engineer' s estimate.
After considerable discussion with Nr. Cline on type of pipe, location
along Route 29, adaptability of system with the City's system, and qualifica-
tions of the contractor, motion was made by Nr. ~lood, seconded by Nr. Yancey,
that the County accept the low bid of R. L. Bider and Company on Section I, II
and III on basis of Alternate "B" in the amount of $327,604.40 and that all
other bids on Part IV be rejected. Notion carried unanimously.
