A meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia,
adjourned z~rom Narch 18, 1971, was held at 7:30 P.~. on this date in the Board
Room, County Office Building. Because of the number of citizens present, the
meeting was moved to the Court Room.
Present: Eessrs. Edgar N. Garnett, Joseph E. Gibson, F. E. Paulett,
Gordon L. 7~neeler, Lloyd F. Wood, Jr. and R. A~ Yancey.

Also present were R. G. Warner, Resident Highway Engineer; R. Coats,
Assistant Resident Engineer; T. ~. Batchelor, Jr., County Executive; and John
L. Humphrey, County Planner.
The Chairman announced that this was the time advertised For Annual Road
Hearing. Nr. Warner briefly reviewed allocations For the current fiscal year
and projects completed or begun during the year. He explained also the criteria
used for selection of roads to be improved. ~ir. Garnett .then asked for requests
from the publ. ic~. The following requests were received:
(1) t{oute 659 from Route 631 to end of State maintenance; 1.20 miles; T.C.- 90;
Grade, stabilize, surface treatment, improve sight distance at intersection
with Route 631.
(2) Route 621 from Route 20 to dead end; 1.10 miles; T.C.-47; Grade, drain,
stabilize.
(3) Route 684 from Route 788 to dead end; 1.80 miles; T.C.-139 (49) - Open side
drains and improve.
