A meeting of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia,
adjourned from August 19, 1971, was held at 7:30 P.~. on this date in the County
Court House.
Present: ~essrs. E. N. Garnett, Joseph E. Gibson, F. E. Paulett~ Gordon L.
Wheeler, Lloyd F. Wood, Jr. and l~. A. Yancey.
Absent: None.
The purpose of this meeting was to receive public comments regarding the
Albemarle County Comprehensive Plan as developed by l~osser Payne. A brief expla-
nation of the process was given by Nr. Payne and detail of changes was explained
by Nr. John Humphrey.
Comments and suggestions were received from Nr. Archibald Craig, Nr. Jack
Darrell (for Citizens for Albemarle), l~iss Virginia ~oore, Nr. Thomas Dodd (for
Jaycees), ~r. Don Heyne, Nfs. James Cash, Nrs. James Cash, Nfs. Sandusky (for
League of 'Women Voters), Nr. ;.~. Seldon, Nr. F. A. Iachetta, and Nr. Bill Colony.
At the conclusion of discussion by the public, motion was offered by
Gibson, seconded by Nr. Yancey, setting 7:30 P.~. on September t4, 197t, for a
work session to give consideration to suggestions made by the public and possible
amendments to the Plan, and setting 1:00 P.~. on September 16, 1971, as the time
for acting upon the Comprehensive Plan. This motion carried by the following
recorded vo~e:
ATES: Nessrs. Garnett, Gibson,/~neeler, Paulett, Wood and Yancey.
NAYS: None.
Claims asainst the County amounting to $736,248.33 were presented, examined
and allowed, and certified to the Director of Finance for payment and charged
against the following ikmds:
General Operating Fund
School Operating Fund
Capital Outlay Fund
Virginia Public Assistance Fund
Nental Health Fund
Dog Tax Fund
Textbook Fund (l~ental)
Commonwealth of Va. Current Credit Account
Town of Scottsville 1% Local Sales Tax
