Pursuant to the following waiver, members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle
County, Virginia, met in special session on this date in the County Office Building, Charlottesville,
Virginia, at 12:00 Noon with the following members present: Nessrso Ho Ashby Harris, Edgar E. Garnett,
Edward L. Smith, Robert Thraves, and N. Y. Sutherland, Jr. Absent: Nro John N. Williams.
We, the ~udersigned, members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County,
Virginia, hereby waive notice, and special service thereof, of a meeting to be held
at 12:00 Noon on the sixteenth day of July, 1956, in the~ County Office Building,
Charlottesville, Virginia, for the purpose of receiving and considering bids on cer-
tain alterations and additions to the Gate House at the County Jail, and we do hereby
consent to the transaction of any and all business and the taking of such action at
said meeting upon the matter hereinabove mentioned as may be lawful, incident and

Nr~ M. M. Pence suggested that Mr. Smith be a~arded the contract contingent upon his being
able to start the work i~e~ately and also reco~ended that $1,600.00 be appropriated to cover the cost
of the contract work plus additioD~l wo~ required on the sewer not covered by the specifications.
On motion of Mr° Sutherland, seconded by Nr. ~aves, and ~nimously carried, award of the
above mentioned contract was made to ~lli~m Co Smith, s~ject to his being able to start wo~ i~ediate~y.
On motion of Mr.Sm~'~n, seco~ed by Mr. Garnett, the following resolution ~$ adopted on ~izsi
readings
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Supervisors of AlbemaDle County,
Virginia, that $1,600.00 be and is hereby appropriated for additions and alter-
ations to the Gate House at the County Jail.
On motion, the meeting adjourned.
