Pursuant to the following waiver, members of the Board of County'Supervisors of Albemarle
County, Virginia, met in special session, jointly with members of the School Board, on this date in the
County Office Building, Charlottesville, Virginia, at 8:00 P.M. with the following present: Messrs.
John W. Will~Ams, Edgar N. Garnett, H. Ashby Harris, Edward L. Smith, M. Y. Sutherland, Jr.~ and Robert
Thraves.
We,. the undersigned, members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County,
Virginia, hereby waive notice and special service thereof, of a meeting to be held
at 8:00 P. Mo on the twenty-fourth day of October, 1957, in the County Office Building,
Charlottesville, Virginia, for the purpose of receiving a report of the School Survey
Committee, and we do hereby consent to the transaction of any and all business and
the taking of such action at aaid meeting upon the mat~er herein~b6ve.~mentioned as
may be lawful, incident and necessary there. ·

Officers present: County Executiv~ and Commonwealth's Attorney.
Mr. F. F. Jenkins, Director, Division of Research and Planning, State Department of Education,
presented the School Survey Report on behalf of the Committee. He commented on several phases of the
report and presented recommendations. After presentation, a number of questions were asked by members
of the Board of Supervisors and the School Board. The Chairman thanked the Survey Committee for their
work in this instance. On motion, duly made and seconded, the report was ordered received and taken undea
consideration.
