1961-06-07SPECIALJune 7, 1961 Pursuant to the following waiver, members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia, met in special session on this date in the County Office Building, Charlottesville, Virginia, at ll:O0 A.M. with the following present: Messrs. John W. Williams, Edgar N. Garnett, H. M. Y. Sutherland, Jr. Ashby Harris, George C. Palmer, ii,/and Robert Thraves. Absent: None. Also present: Mr. M. M. Pence, County Executive. We, the ~ndersigned, members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia, do hereby waive notice and special service thereof, of a meeting to be held at ll:O0 A.M. on the seventh day of June, 1961, for the purpose of considering matters pertaining to the Crozet ~anitary District, and we do hereby consent to any and all business and the taking of such action at said meeting up~ the matter hereinabove mentioned as may be lawful, incident and necessary~t~ereto~. ~ .... /×' ~ ~////Edgar N. Suther!and, Jr~ ~'~ Robert Thraves The Chairman announced that this was the time and the place for the opening of bids for the seeding and mulching of the new Crozet Water Dam as per advertisement. He asked if there were any further bids to be submitted. The County Executive then proceeded to open the bids at hand. The fellow- ing bids were submitted: Walter F. Bishop .................. $1,687.00 Elliott's Nursery ................. $1,449.50 The County Executive explained that he had hoped to obtain a bid in the $700.00-$800.00 bracke~ The Board gave considerable discussion to the bids submitted and it appeared to be the consensus of opinion that the prices submitted were too high. On motion of Mr. Gar~ett, seconded by Mr. Sutherland, the matter with respect to the award of a contract was held in abeyance pending further study. On motion by Mr. Palmer, seconded by Mr. Harris, the B6ard vo~ed to go into executive session to consider matters of personnel regards the Crozet Sanitary District, by the following recorded vote: Ayes - all.
