1953-03-13SPECIAL Pursuant to the following waiver, the members cf the Beard of Co~ty Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia, met in special session on this date at the County Office Building with the following members present: Messrs. C. Purcell McCue, E. H. Ba~n, H. Ashby Harris, Edward L. Smith, J. W. Williams!, and W. W. Weed. We, tee undersigned, members of the Board of County SupervisorE of Albemarle County, Virginia, hereby waive notice, and special service thereof, of a meeting to be held at 2:00 P.M. on the 13th day of March, 1953, in the County Office Building, Charlot- tesville, Virginia, for the purpose of discussing the proposed budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1953 and ending June 30, 1954, and we do hereby consent to the transaction of any and all business and the taking of such action at said meeting upon the matter hereinabove mentioned as may be lawful, incident, and necessary therto. E. H. Bain / / j.w. William- The meeting opened with the Lord's Prayer led by Mr. E. H. Bain. Pursuant to Sections 15-282(2) and 15-300 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, Mr. D. A. Robinson presented to the Board his proposed b~dget for the year 1953-54. Mr. Paul H. Cale, M~. Leslie H. Walto~ and members of the School Board also met with the Board. Mr. Cale explained to the Board all increases and decreases in:the School Budget.. Mr. Robinson wen% through the remainder of the budget with the Boax explaining increases and decreases therein. After discussing the budget, motion was made by Mr. Wood, seconded by Mr. Bain, ordering the following changes in the General Fund: Contribution to Oharlottesville-Albemarle Public Library - decrease $3,216.56 Compemsation of Personal Property Assessors - increase $1,000.00 Unappropriated Reserve- decrease $46,283.44 and it was ordered that a synopsis of the proposed 1953-54 budget with the foregoing changes be adver- tised in the Dai!y Progress in accordance with the Law and April 15, 1953 at 10:00 A.M. was set as the time for p~blic hearing on same.
