1953-09-10SPECIAL Pursuant to the following waiver, the members of the Board of Cou_uty Supervisors of Albemarle Co~mty~ Virginia, met in special session on this date in the Cozmty Office Building at 8:30 A.M. with the following members present: Messrs. C. Purcell McCue, E. H. Bain~ H. Ashby Harris, Edward L. Smith, and John W. Williams. Absent: Mr. W.' W. Wood. We, the undersigned, members of the Board of Cgunty Supervisors of Albemarle County~ Virginia, hereby waive notice, and spe~mal serVzce thereof, of a mee.ing to be held at 8:30 A.M. on the tenth day of September, 1953, in the County Office Building, Char- lottesville, Virginia, for the purpose of considering and acting upon the Crozet Sani- taryDistrict Water Supply and we: do hereby consent to the transaction of any and all business and the taking of such action at said meeting upon the matter hereinabove mentioned as may be lawful, incident, and necessary thereto. Wood The following report was received from the Crozet Water Committee: "The Water Committee o£ the Croze% Sanitary District reco~nends that an ordinance be approved to prohibit the use of water for: (1) ~shing automobiles, trucks ~nd machiAeryo. (2) Watering lawns anm gardens. ~ (3) Any ~ecessary use or wasteJ" Upon motion, made byNr. The Director of Finance is authorized and directed to issue such further rules aud regu!a- tions as to the non-essential use of water. In the event that a cons=aer fails to comply with such rules and regulations, the Director of Finance is authorized to disconnect and cease furnishing water during the period of this emergency. The Water Committee of the Crozet Sanitary District is requested to continue to study the emergency water requirements and to recommend to the Director of Finance ways and means of conserving the present water supply and securing additional Water during the period of this emergency. All water consumers are urged to use only such water as absolutely necessary and avoid any non-essential use. BE IT FURTheR RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be mailed or delivered to each water customer of the Crozet Sanitary District. Williams suggested that the Board amend its present Ordinance to provide for fines for non essential use of water during future emergencies. This matter wai referred to the Commonwealth's Attorney.
