Gentry to the members of this Board to call a special meeting to be held at the County Office Building on March 1, 194Aat 10:00 A.M.: Pursuant to the following calls the Board met in special session on this date with the following members present: Dr. L. G. Roberts, Messrs. E. J. Baltard, P. H. Gentry, T. E. Bruce, C. Purcell McCue, and W. W. Wood: "Members of the Board of 'CoUnty Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia Gentlemen~ Pursuant to the provisionS: of Section 2715 of the Code of Virginia, you are hereby notified'that a Special meeting of the Ooard of County SuperviSors ~f' Albemarle County, Virginia will be held in th& Board Room of the Office Building of said County at l0 A.M. 6n Wednesday, March l, 19A4 to con- sider the following matters: (1) Re-enactment of the Ordinance adopted on-January !9, 194g, p~0hibiting the running at large of dogs. Thomas Clerk of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County After a lengthy diacussion of the rabies situation in this ~ounty, the following ordinance was Unanimously adooted: BE IT ORDAINED, by the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia, as follows, to-wit: The owners of all dogs in Albemarle County shall keep the same confined in their premises unless muzzled in such manner that persons or animals will not be subject to the danger of being bitten thereby, provided that the foregoing orohibition shall not apply to dogs which have been innocUlated or vabcinated in accordance with regulations approved by the County Health Board. it shall be unlawful and shall constitute a misdemeanor for any person to violate or permit the violation of the orovisions of this ordinance and'~very person convicted of a violation of any of the provisions or'this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not less than $I0.00, nor more than $~00.00, or by imprisonment in jail for not le~s than one, nor more than thirty days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that an emergency exists, and this ordinance is hereby made effective immediately, to-wit: On March l, 1944, and shall remain in effect until ~arch 17, 19A4, unless sooner repealed. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned.
