Pursuant to the following waiver, the members of the Board of County Supervisors
of Albemarle County, Virginia, met in special session on this date with the following mem-
bers present: Messrs. P. H. Gentry, ~. Warren Wood, C. Purcell McCue, Henry Chiles,
and T. E. Bruce.

visors of Albemarle County, Virginia, do hereof waive notice and
ser~ce of notice of a Special Meeting of the Board of County Supervisors
to be held at 7:00 o'clock P.~., on the 30th ~a2- of January, 1947, at the
Board Room in the County Office Building, on Court Square, in the City of
Charlottesville, Virginia, for the prupose of considering and acting upon
a pland for the joint ownership and operation of a~k~gh school for negro
pupils proposed by the school boards of the City of Charlottesville and
the County of Albemarle; considering and making an appropriation toward
cost of acquiring a site for such proposed high school; and considering
and acting upon any and al2 other matters touching upon and relating to
the public school system in the County of Albemarle; and ~o do all other
~hings at said meeting in and about the purposes heretofore stated that
may be lawfu~,bincident, and necessary thereto.

Upon motion duly made and seoonded, the following resolutions were unanimously
adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED By ~e Board of County Sm~rvisors of Albemarle County that the
plan for the joint ownership and operation of a ~gh school for negro pupils propoeed by the
school boards of the City of Charlottesville and the County of Albemarle be and the same is
hereby approved, and it is recommended that the said Boards proceed to acquire a suitable
site for the establishmen~o of such joint high school.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County that
$10,000.00, or so much therof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appropriated f¢~
the payment by the County School Board of Albemarle County of one-half of the cost of ac-
quiring a site for a proposed high school for negro pupils to be established and operated
jointly with the City of Charlottesville.
