1950-11-01November l, 1950. Pursuant to the following waiver, members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia, met in special session on this date with the following members present: ~Iessrs. C. Purcell McCue, E. J. Ballard, Henry Chiles, C. R. Dottier, J. W. Williams~ and ~. W. Wood. We~ the undersigned members ef the Board of County Supervisors of Albe- marle County, hereby waive notice~ and special service thereof, of a meeting to be held at 3:00 P.N. on the let day of November, 1950, at the County Office BuildJ_ug for the purpose ef discu~ssing the water pipe line from the Corporate Limits of the City of Charlottesville to the consolidated high school site; and for the purpose of electing a member of the Board to cast the County's ballot for the election of Board mem- bers to the Chamber of Commerce; and we do hereby consent to the trans- action of any and all business and the taking of such action at said meeting upon the matters hereinabove mentioned as may be lawful, inci- dent, and necessar% thereto. Before beginning the scheduled matters of the meeting, Mr. McCue reported that' Mrs. J. Wo ~cLeod had contacted him regarding thal hanging of restored pictures in the Court House and that he had advised her to meet with the Board at its next regular meeting. Mr. J. T. Hensley, Chairman of the School Board, appeared before the Board regar- ding pipe for the consolidated white high school and requested the Board to authorize Mr. Robinson to place an order for the pipe because of the fact that orders are now running approxi~tely four months behind schedule. ~r. Robinson advised that he had contacted Nv. James E. Bowen, City Manager, and had been advised by him that the City would not be able to negotiate with the County until after the Council decides what it is going to do about water at the new inn at the intersection of Routes 29 and 250. Mr. Bowen did advise though that the line would have to he built in accordance with city specifications and that the City would control the users on the ~ineo N~. Robinson expressed the opinion thmt he felt the line should be built with an outlook of t~.enty years normal growth° Upon motion, made by Mr. Chiles and zeconded by ~r. Williams, Mro Robinson was requested to contact Wiley and Wilson, Consulting Engineers, regarding a prelimins~y survey of the proposed water line to the consolidated high school and also to contact Glamorgan Pipe and Foundry Company and request that the County be given protection on six and eight inch pipe. The County's ballot for the election of directors to the loca~l Chamber of Commerce was presented, after which ~i~. Williams advised the Board that he had served on the nominating committee of the Chamber of Commerce and was interested in the slate of candi- dates, whereupon the chairman ~uthorized ~r.
