1943-02-17A regular meeting of the Beard of County Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virgir~a, was held at the Office Building of the said County on the l?th day of February, 1943. Present: Messrs. J. M. 'Fray, E; J. Ballard, P. H. Gentry, H. Ashby I~arris, and C. ~reell McCue~ and Dr. L. G~ Roberts. Absent~ None. Officers present: County Executive. Minutes of .t~e meeting of January 20, 1943, were read and approved. Communications were received from Mr. George Gilmer, Attorney, concerning the er- ;oneous assessment 'of certain lands in Albemarle County. Upon motion, duly made and seconded the following Resolution was unanimously adopted: WHEREAS, Mr. George Gilmer, Attorney, who has been employed to collect delinquent land taxes, has recommended that the following par- eels of land be deleted from the County's Tax Rolls due to the fact that in his opinion the land is erroneously assessed: Tax :Year 1916 to. 1942, Inc.. Corporate Limits of the City of Charlottesville North to the Eo Corporate Limits of the City of Char- lottesville, a distance of ~35 mile. Communication from Mr. Berm Eye, District Forester, reque?t ~iag that rates of pay for services in comnection with fightimg forest fires be increased, was presented. Upon mo- tion, duly made smd seconded, the ~foltowing Resolution was unanimously adopted'. BE IT RESOLVED by the Board -of County Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia, that the state Forester of Virginia be, and is here- by, requested to approve a change in the ~ate of pay to persons em- ployed by the Forest Wardens cf the ~said County for the suppression of forest fires, from the present rate of 25~ per hour for registered fire fighters amd 20~ per hour for non-registered fire fighters to the revised rate of 30~ per hour for registered fire fighters a~d 25~ per hour for non-registered fire fighters. The County Executive was instructed to advise the City authorities that if addi- tional services were required of the Joint Health Department ~ythe City authorities that th~ B~ard would expect the City to assume the cost of such additiaUal' services. Mr. H. A. Haden, Director of Finance, submitted a statement of the expresses .of the Sheriff's Office for the month of ~anuary, 1943, two-thir~s of which to be borne by the State. Upon motion, duly made and seconded, this statement was examined, verified, and ap- proved, Statement of expenses incurred in the maintensnee' of' prisoners confined in the County Jail for the month of January, 1943, was presented amd approved.
